Fossil-free value chains require railways

The climate challenges are both local and global. As a company, we choose to see and take advantage of the opportunities and profits of a sustainable transition. SweMaint's role for an efficient, sustainable, climate-smart transport chain is also becoming increasingly important, and the future will soon be met with, among other things, locomotive maintenance as a new business area and sharpened organization.

With the corporate role also comes a responsibility to be a positive force in the world SweMaint operates in. We are therefore involved in a number of different initiatives aimed at supporting and contributing to a more sustainable and inclusive society. Such initiatives are particularly important in Gothenburg, as this is where we are based.

10,000 wheels for Christmas!

On 18 December, SweMaint's wheel workshop in Gothenburg passed the milestone of 10,000 reprocessed wheels in 2023! The recipe behind the success and what makes the workshop Scandinavia's largest for freight wagon wheels is an increased demand for freight wagon transport, a fantastic collaboration with customers, suppliers and partners combined with joint dedication. A warm thank you to everyone who contributed!

A better new year for more

As the United Nations Children's Fund, UNICEF works in 190 countries with one goal: to make children's rights a reality for all children. The organisation receives no financial support from the UN and is funded exclusively by voluntary contributions from individuals, companies and governments. All money raised is distributed among the countries and areas that need it most. For the first time in a long time, we see a decline in the development of children in many countries and more children than ever before need help to survive.

Cooperation with Göteborgs Stadsmission 2024 for a more sustainable society

SweMaint is part of society at large and with the corporate role comes a responsibility to be a positive force in the world around us. We therefore engage in a number of different initiatives aimed at supporting and contributing to a more sustainable and inclusive society. The latest in the series of such initiatives, and particularly important since SweMaint is based in Gothenburg, is the collaboration with Göteborgs Stadsmission 2023/2024.

Midwaggon gets new owner

Midwaggon in Ånge Sweden, which rebuilds, maintains and services locomotives, is getting a new owner. The current owner, Extendo Group based in Färila, is selling the business and its property to Malmö-based Kockums Industrier. Midwaggon, has an annual turnover of 30 million SEK, and around 30 employees in Ånge.

UNICEF receives no financial support from the UN. The organization's activities are thus financed exclusively by voluntary contributions from private individuals, companies and governments.
